peNV ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the peNV mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

• Account information — your Google account email address and display name, used solely for authentication via Google Sign-In.
• Profile data — username, age range, country, and matching preferences you provide during registration.
• Messages — text messages sent in direct and group chats, stored in Firebase Firestore to deliver them to recipients.
• Device token — a Firebase Cloud Messaging token used to send push notifications to your device.
• Usage data — basic crash reports collected via Firebase Crashlytics to help us fix bugs.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

• GPS location or precise geolocation data
• Device contacts, camera, or microphone access
• Advertising identifiers or behavioral tracking data
• Financial or payment information

3. How We Use Your Information

• To match you with other users based on shared interests and preferences
• To deliver messages and push notifications
• To detect and prevent abuse, spam, or violation of our Terms of Service
• To improve app stability via anonymised crash reports

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. Your data is shared only with the following service providers that help operate the app:

• Google Firebase — authentication, database, cloud functions, and push notifications (Google LLC, USA)
• Google Firebase Crashlytics — crash reporting

These providers process data under their own privacy policies and in compliance with applicable data protection laws.

5. Data Retention

Active chat matches and group conversations expire automatically after 24 hours of inactivity and are permanently deleted from our servers. Account data is retained while your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from the app Settings screen, which permanently removes your profile and associated data.

6. Security

All data is transmitted over TLS/HTTPS and stored in Google Firebase, which employs industry-standard security controls. Access to Firestore data is governed by strict security rules that allow users to read and write only their own data.

7. Children's Privacy

peNV is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will promptly delete the account.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate profile information (via the app Settings screen)
• Delete your account and all associated data (via the app Settings screen)
• Opt out of push notifications (via the app Settings screen or device settings)

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
