Child Safety Standards
Last updated: May 2026
peNV is committed to protecting children from exploitation and abuse on our platform. This page outlines our child safety standards and practices, in compliance with Google Play's Child Safety Standards Policy and the Romanian and European laws that apply to our service.
1. peNV is an 18+ Platform
peNV is designed and intended for adult users aged 18 years or older. Users under the age of 18 are not permitted to use peNV.
During registration, every user must provide their date of birth. If the user is under 18, the registration flow blocks them with a clear message and does not allow account creation to proceed. There is no workaround within the registration interface.
2. Zero Tolerance for CSAM and Exploitation
peNV has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, exploitation, or any content that endangers children. Such content and the users responsible for it are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account removal.
3. Reporting to Authorities
If we identify or receive credible reports of child sexual abuse material on the peNV platform, we commit to:
- Immediately remove the offending content and ban the responsible account
- Preserve relevant evidence and account data for law enforcement
- Report the incident to the U.S. National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) via their CyberTipline for users in jurisdictions where this applies
- Report the incident to the Romanian Police and the European INHOPE network for users within the European Union
- Cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations
4. In-App Reporting Mechanisms
peNV provides multiple ways for users to report unsafe content or behavior:
- Report a user or group — every user profile and group has a built-in report button. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team and acted on promptly.
- Block users — users can immediately block any other user, cutting off all contact and removing them from view.
- Live Chat to support — every peNV user can directly message the peNV team in real time via the Live Chat option in Settings. This channel is monitored daily and is the fastest way to reach human moderation.
- Email contact — for issues that cannot be raised in-app, users may email cornel@penvapp.com.
5. Privacy-First Design Reduces Risk
peNV's privacy-first architecture provides additional safeguards:
- Chats automatically expire and are deleted after 24 hours, limiting the window in which harmful content can persist
- peNV is text-only — there is no photo, video, voice, or file sharing within the app
- No GPS location tracking — users cannot pinpoint another user's physical location
- Account deletion is one tap away in Settings, with a full cascade that removes the user's profile and associated data
6. Compliance Commitment
peNV complies with all relevant child safety laws in the jurisdictions where the app is available, including but not limited to:
- Google Play Child Safety Standards Policy
- Romanian law on protecting minors online
- European Union regulations on online child safety, including the Digital Services Act (DSA)
- U.S. federal reporting obligations under 18 U.S.C. § 2258A where applicable
